Athletic Development Coach
We are currently looking for an Athletic Development Coach to support session delivery.
Multiple sessions are delivered daily to groups and individuals who are competing at a National and International level.
This is a great opportunity for a proactive individual that is passionate about developing young tennis players.
Reports to: Head of Athletic Development
Employment Status: Self-Employed
Hourly Rate: Squad Delivery £20/hr (approx. 13hrs per week), Individual Session Delivery £25-35 (approx. 10hrs per week, with the ability to grow) – both rates of pay dependent on experience.
Anticipated Start: September 2025.
Location: Bolton Arena Tennis Academy, Arena Approach, Horwich, Lancs, BL6 6LB
Time Commitment: 36 weeks a year for the Performance Programme in school term time, with potential for on-going individual delivery and tennis camps during school holidays.
Minimum hours per week approx. 25 across Squad and Individual delivery. Core working hours are between 13.00hrs and 19.00hrs.
The successful candidate will deliver sessions across the day, including evenings, with a combination of gym and court-based work. They will be expected to fulfil the role of both lead and assistant coach across different sessions.
Additional Earning Opportunities: Delivery of individual S&C sessions throughout the day and weekends if desirable.
Roles & Responsibilities:
•Lead and assist on squad based athletic development sessions, covering the full spectrum of ages: Mini Red, Orange & Green and U10-U18
•Delivery of individualised 1-2-1 sessions.
•Lead and assist on performance testing and reporting.
•Collaborate with the wider coaching team.
•Attend bi-weekly team meetings.
•Demonstrate a professional approach to coaching and show problem solving skills.
Bolton Arena Tennis Academy is an LTA Regional Player Development Centre (RPDC) based in Bolton, Lancashire.
Person Specification:
•Experience working with youth athletes and can demonstrate an understanding of long-term athlete development.
•Experience delivering to groups of youth athletes.
•BSc in a Sport Science-related field /Strength & Conditioning Qualification (essential)
•MSc in a Sport Science-related field (desirable)
•Possess an up-to-date DBS and First Aid Certificate.
•Strong communication skills with coaches and parents.
•Highly organised, with excellent planning and time-management skills.
•Flexible and adaptable to player schedules.
•Comfortable working evenings and occasional weekends.
