This is a unique and exciting opportunity to be part of both an established, award winning academy programme and part of a team, building a new site and club from the very start and is an ideal position for a driven level 2 or 3 coach looking to further their coaching career and lead a new challenge.

The current programme in place will provide squad coaching time, and then individual lessons on top of this made up from lessons currently in place with the Academy Director and others to be picked up from players joining or those on the lesson waiting list. The programme hours include afternoons, evenings and Saturdays as well as the occasional Sunday and support hosting matches. Within the role, there is scope to design and deliver your own coaching programme on behalf of the academy, under the supervision of the Academy Director, and be part a coaching team creating a tennis club at one of our new sites.

There is opportunity for the right candidate to grow hours very quickly through individual lessons, developing squads, running initiatives and tournaments/matchplay. With the right vision and ethos, this role could lead to Head Coach across several sites quickly.

We are willing to support and fund the right coach through their Level 3 qualification if required.

First Service Baker Tennis Academy’s philosophy is fun whilst learning and tennis for all. We aim to motivate students and encourage a passion for tennis and sport, delivering exciting active tennis and multisport coaching sessions in a positive environment, welcoming students of all ages and abilities. We currently have 2 venues: Witham and Maldon, all with 4 outdoor floodlit courts and are in talks to acquire further sites.

The ideal candidate for this role will be an energetic self-motivated coach keen to enthuse students with a love of the sport. You will be positive and patient to students, communicate effectively in a motivational way, and be keen to work with both juniors and adults. Ideally you will hold a full driving licence and have a car to drive to the venue.

Ideally you will be a level 3 coach, but an excellent level 2 coach looking to complete their level 3 qualification will be considered.

You will be able to work on your own and as part of a team, be reliable and committed to coaching regular sessions. You will hold valid DBS, First Aid and Safeguarding certificates and your own public liability insurance.
