Hi, I have been coaching now for 14 years. I am lead coach Ferndown Tennis Club and also Senior Coach at Victoria Avenue Lawn Tennis Club, Winton. I have strong experience promoting tennis to local schools creating awareness and participation through inclusive coaching. Working at the club with new players and also improving players brings so much reward to me and seeing the development and progression really makes my job the best job in the world. Coach Accreditation is the LTA’s professional membership scheme for coaches. Being accredited ensures that a coach is qualified, insured and meets safe-to-practice standards, such as first aid and safeguarding training. An Accredited+ coach also commits to a minimum of 15 hours of professional development training each year.
Qualifications range from 1 to 5 and indicate the level of formally-assessed training a coach has completed. Coaches begin the LTA Qualification pathway at LTA Assistant (Level 1) and are able to train up to Master Coach (Level 5), the highest available LTA qualification. When choosing a coach we recommend taking into account qualifications, experience and ongoing CPD training, which can be seen in their 'Recently completed training courses' tab.
