Here you can search through a host of options including the nearest free or pay to play courts, and clubs you can join as a member. You can also check out what facilities are available at the courts and the activities are being held there, such as Cardio or Disability Tennis.

Choosing the right court

There are three main tennis court surfaces – hard, clay and grass. Hard court is the most common in the UK, which suits a variety of different players and means it’s easier to play all year round. If you’re just starting out playing tennis, then hard courts are a great place to learn the basics and get to know the court.

Fancy yourself as a bit of a Rafael Nadal? Then maybe clay is the surface for you. As the softest court surface it tends to play slightly slower than others and can lend itself more to longer rallies.

The first thing many think of when you mention tennis is the lush green grass courts at Wimbledon. Grass courts tend to be played on more seasonally rather than all year round. On grass players will find the ball moves slightly faster, staying lower to the ground and tends to favour intermediate to advanced players.

Indoor courts are another great place where you can hone your skills all year around. However, current Government guidelines state that these facilities are to remained closed until further notice.
