Four GB teams win medals at the ITF World Young Seniors Team Championships

There was medal success for four British teams at the ITF Young Seniors World Team Championships which took place in Miami from 21-26 October.

The ITF Young Seniors World Team Championships is the highest ranked event on the ITF Seniors Circuit for male and female players in the age categories of 35+, 40+ and 45+.

The GB Women's 45s Team won the Silver medal in the Margaret Court Cup after beating USA in the Semi Final. Teresa Catlin, Barbara Griffiths, Michelle Oldham and Jo Shepherd were defeated 2-1 by France in the Final.

The GB Women’s 40s team secured 3rd place to win a Bronze medal in the Young Cup. They beat USA in the 3rd/4th play-off after losing 2-1 to France in the Semi Final.

Our Men's 35s team also won a Bronze medal, defeating USA in the Quarter Final of the Italia Cup before bowing out to the Netherlands team in the Semi Final and finishing 4th. The GB Men’s 45s team secured a Bronze medal finishing 4th in the Dubler Cup after beating Sweden and Brazil in the group stages and losing to eventual winners France in the Semi Final.
