Tia Norton and Louie Harris selected for the 2024 Pro Padel League

British padel stars Tia Norton and Louie Harris are set to compete in the second season of the Pro Padel League (PPL) starting in April this year.

Norton rejoins defending champions Las Vegas Smash as they try to retain their title from 2023.

Meanwhile, Great Britain star Harris has also chosen to compete for the San Diego Stingrays. This will be the first time Harris has featured at the US team event.

The tournament will see 10 teams go head-to-head in four rounds of competition – starting with the opening two rounds in Florida on 1-6 and 8-13 April, followed by the third and fourth in California from 12-17 and 19-24 August.

There will also be a PPL Cup competition in New York from 18-23 November.

British No.1 Norton teamed up with Palila de la Pena last year to help the Las Vegas side defeat Cancun Wave in last year’s final and hopes to repeat her success again when she heads to the States in April.

“I had the experience of a lifetime in the summer winning the first ever PPL Cup with Las Vegas Smash and the opportunity to repeat that next year was too good to miss,” Norton said in a recent interview with The Padel Paper.

“I can’t wait to meet up again with my doubles partner Palila and the rest of the team to begin the defence of our title!”

21-year-old Harris was picked in the second round of the tournament’s draft system for team selections. Harris is currently the third highest ranked British padel player and won a total of six LTA British Tour titles last season.

“I’m gobsmacked to be honest,“ the Brit said in an interview with The Padel Paper.

“The Pro Padel League is one of the most exciting leagues in the world and I think for any Brit, playing in the US is a major goal. I literally cannot wait to get over there. It’s going to be awesome.”

Harris will join up with some of the top players in the world in San Diego, including Argentinian stars Maxi Sanchez and Miguel Lamperti, as well as Spain’s Lucia Sainz.
