Salisbury and Ram advance into semi-finals

• 1 MINUTE READ

Joe Salisbury and Rajeev Ram reached the men's doubles semi-finals at The Championships, Wimbledon after a comprehensive straight sets win over the third seeds.

The British-American duo, who triumphed at the 2020 Australian Open, beat Colombia’s Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (2) to reach the last four at SW19.

Salisbury and Ram, who are yet to drop a set at Wimbledon this year, won three out of three break points in today’s contest and Salisbury wrapped up the victory in style with a sublime backhand return.

The sixth seeds will now face Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic in the next round – the Croatian pairing have been the most dominant team of the year on the men’s doubles circuit since they began their partnership at the start of the 2021 season.

The pair, who are the first seeds at Wimbledon this year, have racked up seven tour-level titles in 2021 so far, including three ATP Masters 1000s in Miami, Monte-Carlo and Rome.
