Which British players will be competing at the Lexus Ilkley Open 2025?

Harriet Dart will fly the British flag in the WTA draw, as the only female British player confirmed for main draw action.

The British No.4 clocked some notable performances on grass at Wimbledon last summer, where she reached the third round and also made a quarter-final appearance in Eastbourne.

Dart will be hoping to adapt quickly to the grass courts as she continues her quest for a first WTA 125 title.

Meanwhile, Cam Norrie will lead a two-strong British contingent on the men’s singles side. A former Wimbledon semi-finalist, Norrie knows exactly what it takes to win on the grass and will enter as one of the favourites to etch his name on the trophy.

He’ll be joined by last summer’s breakthrough star Billy Harris who is chasing down a spot in the world’s top 100 for the first time. Harris made headlines last year when he reached three semi-finals on British soil in Surbiton, Nottingham and Eastbourne while also making the quarter-finals at the HSBC Championships.

Who else is competing at the Lexus Ilkley Open 2025?

This year’s women’s draw features a strong line-up of international talent, including reigning champion Rebecca Marino who will return to Ilkley with her sights set on defending her crown.

The Canadian beat the likes of Britain’s Ranah Stoiber, Daria Snigur and Kimberly Birrell before edging Jessika Ponchet in three sets to lift the trophy in Ilkley last summer.

However, she faces stiff competition with the likes of world No.70 Alexandra Eala joining the line-up off the back of a breakthrough season. Eala - who is the highest ranked female player set to compete this year - announced her arrival on the WTA stage at the Miami Open where she reached the semi-finals of the WTA 1000 event as a wild card.

During her run, the young Filipino defeated three Grand Slam champions in Jelena Ostapenko, Madison Keys and Iga Swiatek and will be one to watch in Ilkley.

Australia’s Olivia Gadecki, France’s Diane Parry and Leoli Jeanjean are amongst the names of WTA stars who will also bid for the title in a couple of weeks' time.

On the ATP side, 2014 US Open champion Marin Cilic will prepare to hunt down his first title on the grass since 2021. The 36-year-old has already claimed one Challenger title this year but the former HSBC Championships winner will be looking to find his feet quickly on the grass.

World No.102 Brandon Holt, who is also the son of former world No.1 Tracey Austin, will arrive as one of the in-form players on the ATP Challenger tour after reaching three semi-finals this year.

American Christopher Eubanks has previously shown his form on the surface, after reaching the quarter-finals at Wimbledon and lifting the Mallorca Championships title, both in 2023.

Past champion Jason Kubler, Poland’s Kamil Majchrzak and Lloyd Harris will also be heading to Ilkley.
