Xu first started playing tennis at the age of four at her local tennis club in Swansea. At first, she only played for 30 minutes a week but very quickly fell in love with the sport. Naturally competitive, Xu was drawn to tennis because it provided the perfect combination of physical strength and mental toughness.
Now, after 14 years of playing, she still loves pushing herself and finding new ways to improve her game.
Tennis has always been a huge part of Xu's and she knew early on that she wanted to pursue it as a full-time career. After finishing her A-Levels, she felt ready to fully focus on tennis and made the decision to turn professional in 2025.
