Pre-match breakfast recipes to help your game

Our partners at FAGE have pulled together a variety of breakfast recipes that will help you get set for your next match on court.

These are easy to prepare before hitting the courts and provide carbohydrates for energy plus protein for staying power.

Mixed Berry Yogurt Bowl

Perfect pre play breakfast or snack with fruit, granola and FAGE Total yogurt.

Ingredients

  • 250g of FAGE Total 0%, 2, or 5% yogurt
  • 120g strawberries, hulled and sliced 
  • 120g raspberries
  • 120g blueberries
  • 50g granola
  • Maple syrup or agave

Steps

  1. Place 130g of FAGE Total yogurt into each bowl. Add half of the strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and granola into each bowl. Top bowls with honey.

 

Kiwi & Blueberry Yogurt Bowl

A colourful, refreshing bowl with fruit, granola and FAGE Total yogurt, perfect in the morning or before a match.

Time: 5-10 minutes

Serves: 2 bowls

Ingredients

  • 490g FAGE Total 0%, 2%, or 5% yogurt
  • 2 kiwis, peeled
  • 65g blueberries
  • 65g granola
  • Handful of grapes, cut in half (optional)
  • Edible flowers (optional)

Steps

  1. Place 245g of FAGE Total yogurt in each bowl.

  2. Slice peeled kiwi in half and slice each half into thin pieces. Repeat with the second kiwi.

  3. Roll the first piece into a tight circle and place it on a flat surface. Wrap the rest of the pieces of kiwi around the center piece to form “petals”. Keep adding pieces to the outer edges until you’ve reached your desired size of “rose”. Repeat to form other kiwi roses. Place the roses on top of the yogurt.

  4. Divide blueberries, granola, grapes, and edible flowers among the two bowls and serve immediately.

 

Protein Energy Balls

Bite-sized and packed with protein, oats & seeds, ideal for a quick snack on match day.

Ingredients:

  • 125g smooth peanut butter or nut butter of your choice
  • 70g FAGE Total 0%, 2%, or 5% yogurt 
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 80g old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 80g flaxseed meal
  • 2 tablespoons hemp seeds
  • 2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips (optional)
  • 150g coconut flakes, toasted

Steps

  1. In a medium bowl, mix peanut butter, FAGE Total yogurt, and honey.

  2. Add oats, flaxseed meal, hemp seeds, and chocolate chips and mix until well combined.

  3. Scoop about 1 tablespoon of the mixture into your hands and form into a ball.

  4. Roll the balls in the coconut flakes and refrigerate for about an hour before serving.

 

Swirled Berry Yogurt Bowl

Simple but flavour packed: yogurt swirled with berry compote and topped with fruit and granola.

Ingredients

  • 285g FAGE Total 0%, 2%, or 5% yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon blueberry compote or preserve
  • 50g frozen blueberries
  • 50g frozen blackberries
  • 2 tablespoons granola of your choice Mint leaves (garnish)

Steps

  1. Place FAGE Total yogurt into a bowl.

  2. Using a large spoon, scoop blueberry compote onto the yogurt and swirl compote around the yoghurt.

  3. Top with frozen blueberries and blackberries, granola, and mint.

 

Rainbow Frozen Yogurt Bark

Refreshingly cool and fruity, ice-set yogurt bark that’s easy to snack on before outdoor play.

Ingredients:

  • 600g FAGE Total 0%, 2%, or 5% yogurt
  • 350g golden syrup or agave nectar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 150g strawberries, coarsely chopped
  • 150g blueberries
  • 150g cherries, pitted and coarsely chopped
  • 150g peaches, coarsely chopped

Steps

  1. Line a quarter baking sheet with wax paper and set aside.

  2. Blend 150g FAGE Total yoghurt and ½ chopped cherries. Next, in a small bowl, combine blended yoghurt, 1 tablespoon of golden syrup, ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract, and salt. Pour onto one side of the baking sheet and top with another ½ chopped cherries.

  3. Repeat with Peach, Blueberry and Strawberry with respective fruit and freeze for at least 3 hours, or until completely frozen.

  4. Break apart and serve immediately.
