Scott Lloyd, Chief Executive

Scott was appointed CEO of the Lawn Tennis Association on 8 January 2018.

Prior to joining the LTA, Scott has had a successful business career in the sports and leisure industry. He founded the health, fitness and racquets club group, Next Generation Clubs, in 1997 and expanded the company internationally, developing an Australian portfolio of clubs alongside the UK portfolio. In 2006, he led the sale of the UK business to London & Regional Properties and stayed with the company as CEO. A year later, he sold the Australian portfolio to Kings Park Capital and chaired the investment until 2014.

In 2007, the Company purchased David Lloyd Leisure from Whitbread plc. As Group Chief Executive of David Lloyd Leisure, Scott headed up the integration and subsequent growth of the business through to a successful sale to TDR Capital in September 2013. Scott stayed with the company as CEO before stepping up to the role of Deputy Chairman. In January 2018 Scott commenced as CEO of the LTA responsible for British Tennis.

Stephen Farrow, Director of International Events and Professional Game

Stephen oversees the delivery of all the LTA’s professional events, including the Fever-Tree Championships at The Queen’s Club, the Nature Valley sponsored events in Eastbourne, Birmingham and Nottingham and the Coco Fusion Trophy Series. He combines this role with his position as Tournament Director of the Fever-Tree Championships and also leads for the LTA on its relationships with the international tennis governing bodies the ITF, the ATP and the WTA. Stephen is a member of the ATP European Group Board and the ITF Tournament Committee.

Stephen joined the LTA in May 2010 as a lawyer, rising to become Legal Director and Company Secretary for the LTA in 2014. In that time, he led the LTA’s implementation of the Code for Sports Governance, with the LTA becoming the (joint) first national governing body to adopt the Code in full. 

In 2013, Stephen became the Managing Director of the Queen’s Club Championships, combining that role with the role of Tournament Director from 2014. In this role, he oversaw the elevation of the event from an ATP 250 to an ATP 500 tournament from 2015, the rejuvenation and development of the on-site hospitality offering, the extension of the key agreements with the BBC to broadcast the event until at least 2024 and with the Queen’s Club to stage the event until 2026 and, notably, led the successful project to expand the capacity of the Centre Court at Queen’s by 30% from 2017. During this period, the tournament won the ATP Tournament of the Year Award, as voted for by the players of the ATP, for four consecutive years from 2013 - 2016.

Prior to working for the LTA, Stephen worked for the City law firm Norton Rose LLP.

Olly Scadgell, Participation Director

Olly has a wealth of experience across British tennis having worked at the LTA in a number of roles since 2004. As well as competition, his roles have seen him lead our work on tennis programmes, including mini tennis and supporting commercial tennis operators David Lloyd Leisure and Virgin Active.

Olly Scadgell joined the Executive Team in May 2014 in the role of Director of Major Events and Competitions, overseeing the operations of our pre Wimbledon Events in Nottingham, Birmingham and Eastbourne, as well as the Davis and Federation Cups and the calendar of international and national tournaments. As Participation Director, Olly now oversees our work across participation, competition and safeguarding.

Simon Steele, Finance Director

Simon is the Finance Director at the LTA, joining in October 2016. He has over 10 years' experience in sports across a number of different organisations. Most recently he was Head of Finance and Business Development at Team Sky, advising stakeholders including the owners, team principle and athletes on both financial and commercial issues. In this role he also worked with British Cycling and the wider Sky organisation on their participation programme.

Prior to this Simon spent 15 years at Sky, leading finance teams supporting business areas including marketing, technology and Sky Sports, where he was part of the management team responsible for acquiring sports media rights as well as all other aspects of sports broadcast and distribution.

Simon is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, having trained and qualified with KPMG.

 

Simon Timson, Performance Director

Simon Timson is the Tennis Performance Director at the LTA. He leads the Performance Team responsible for creating a pathway for champions that sustains success at the top of the world game and nurtures future generations of world class players. 

Previously as Director of Performance at UK Sport (2013 – 2016), Simon led the high performance system to unprecedented success at Rio 2016 where Great Britain became the first nation ever to be more successful in both the Olympic and Paralympic Games after hosting. Simon has a PhD in Psychology.

Vicky Williams, Director of People, HR & Development

Vicky leads the HR and Learning & Development function for the LTA, which includes the development and delivery of the HR Strategy, and the development of the LTA’s talent and succession plan for all Colleagues.

Vicky was previously HR Director for the Business and Industry Division of Compass Group, where she worked for 21 years. During her time with Compass Group, Vicky developed and delivered the company’s first on-line training programme for new starters and an award winning apprentice scheme.

In November 2017, Vicky won Personal Today, HR Director of the Year.

Vicky began her HR career at the leading high street retailer Marks and Spencer.
