We’re Hiring: Head of Junior Tennis

Hillhead Tennis Club is looking for a passionate, energetic, and experienced coach to lead our Junior Tennis Programme, helping young players (ages 3–18) fall in love with the game and build strong foundational skills.

Role Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality Red, Orange, Green ball + Yellow sessions
Create a fun, safe, and structured learning environment
Organise holiday camps, junior competitions, and school outreach sessions
Develop player pathways into junior and performance programmes
Communicate effectively with parents and support junior engagement
Mentor assistant coaches and help build a strong junior coaching culture
Hillhead Tennis Club is a vibrant community-focused tennis facility located in Glasgow's West End, situated at 32 Hughenden Road, G12 9XP. As a section of Hillhead Sports Club, it forms part of a multi-sport hub that also includes cricket, rugby, shinty, frisbee, cycling, and a fitness suite. The club offers a welcoming environment for players of all ages and skill levels.
Facilities
The club boasts six floodlit Advantage Red artificial grass courts, installed in May 2017, enabling year-round play and accommodating both social and competitive tennis. The clubhouse provides secure access to men's and women's changing rooms with showers, WCs, and lockers. Members and guests can also enjoy the on-site café, bar, and function rooms, managed by Café Source.
Coaching & Programs
Hillhead Tennis Club offers a comprehensive range of coaching programs for juniors and adults through its partnership with Ash Tennis. These include:
Tennis Xpress: An introductory course for beginners and improvers.
Cardio Tennis: A fun, sociable group fitness class set on a tennis court, suitable for all ages and abilities.
Team Training: Sessions focused on doubles tactics for club teams.
Private Lessons: One-on-one coaching tailored to individual needs .
The club also runs seasonal tournaments, such as the Halloween and Christmas Cups, fostering a competitive yet friendly atmosphere .

Membership & Access
To participate in tennis activities, individuals must join Hillhead Sports Club as members. However, prospective members are welcome to attend social sessions as guests to experience the club's offerings. Membership provides access to all sports facilities, including tennis courts, gym, and social areas .
Community Initiatives
Hillhead Tennis Club is committed to promoting inclusivity, particularly for women and girls. It has developed a Centre of Excellence that includes programs like Judy Murray's Miss Hits for 5–8-year-olds, Tennis for Teens, and recreational tennis for women. These initiatives aim to create a supportive environment through buddy and mentoring systems, volunteer training, and coaching opportunities.

What We’re Looking For:
LTA Level 3 (minimum) – ideally working toward or holding Level 4
Experience in mini/junior coaching
Passion for working with young children in a tennis environment
Strong communication and leadership skills
Energetic, enthusiastic, and well-organised
Current DBS and First Aid (or willing to obtain)
