Self Employed Junior Tennis Instructor


If you’re passionate about tennis, people and community this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of our club follow a long period of inactivity and court rebuild./ launch. The club is based in the picturesque village of Waddesdon in Buckinghamshire.
We are looking for an individual who can instruct juniors from the local community and pass on you passion for the game.
We are looking to find a coaching partner who understands the crucial role that grassroots sports clubs play in our community and wants to be part of growing and sustaining engagement in the game.
The following responsibilities, abilities and personal qualities are important to us. If they resonate with you, we would like to hear from you.
You will deliver:
A coaching programme for all skill levels at junior tennis age that would include:
- Start, organise and deliver coaching activities for children and teenagers
- Open up opportunities to get more girls playing tennis
With the possibility of expanding the role from junior tennis to also include:
- Team players coaching to improve performance and increase success in local
LTA Leagues (we’d love you to play as part of our teams too if possible)
- Lead the organisation of club competitions and tournaments.
- Play an important role in recruiting new members from the coaching
programme and local area generating additional income for the club.
- Work closely with the committee, contributing new ideas, solutions and
collaborating on funding applications.
- Play a pivotal role in providing positive customer service and promoting our
club culture through regular contact with all members and non-members.
- Promote and represent Waddesdon Tennis Club using social and traditional media.
Venue Overview
Waddesdon Tennis Club is about to re-launch and will strive to become a vibrant, diverse and inclusive club community club with team players competing in local leagues as well as thriving disability, senior, intermediate groups. We're proud to have be affiliated with the LTA this year, and are actively prompting our two hard courts, including a pickleball court.

🌳 Location & Setting
The club is situated within the Waddesdon Estate, specifically at the Silk Street Sports Hub, offering a scenic and peaceful environment for tennis enthusiasts.
🎾 Facilities
Two hard tennis courts: These have been newly renovated and are well-maintained. One of the courts is also marked for pickleball, catering to the growing popularity of the sport. The courts are macadam (hard court), suitable for year-round. No floodlights, so play is limited to daylight hours.
👥 Community & Access
The club is open to players of all abilities, from beginners to experienced players. We offers taster sessions, junior coaching, and social tennis events, making it ideal for families and casual players. Courts can be booked online via the ClubSpark platform.
Self employed instructor/ coach looking to fill their week with coaching roles and engage with our community. The option to expand the junior coaching role to the rest of the club including group and individual coaching.
You are/ you have:
- Minimum LTA Level 2 coaching qualification
- LTA accreditation
- Enthusiastic, positive, collaborative, flexible attitude
- Empathetic and patient teaching style
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to create a fun, inclusive, structured and safe learning environment
- Creative approach to session and programme development
- Reliable and committed to delivering punctually and professionally
- Receptive to feedback
