Outreach Coach - Byfleet LTC
Position Type: Part-Time / Full-Time (Flexible)
We’re Hiring!
If you are a passionate and proactive LTA Level 3-5 qualified tennis coach to join our growing team we are eager to hear from you. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact in our community — developing both adult and junior programmes at our friendly 2-court park venue in West Byfleet, while also contributing to the thriving coaching programme at Byfleet LTC.
About the Role:
West Byfleet Park is a newly refurbished venue, and we have recently partnered with the LTA to grow and develop the tennis programme there. We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic coach with a clear vision to build and expand the offering. As this is a relatively new partnership, there is huge scope and opportunity to shape both the group programme and 1-2-1 coaching.
In addition, we have established strong links with local schools, offering further opportunities to deliver tennis sessions and inspire young players. Integral to the BLTC team, the successful candidate will have the chance to get involved in school outreach work, helping to grow participation and create pathways into our park and club programmes.
As a BLTC Outreach Coach, you’ll be responsible for:
•Growing and delivering inclusive, high-quality tennis sessions for adults and juniors in West Byfleet park.
•Building strong relationships within the local community to encourage participation and engagement.
•Supporting and coaching at Byfleet Lawn Tennis Club across junior and adult programmes.
•Promoting pathways between park-based players and the main club venue to support progression and retention.
•Assisting with competitions, holiday camps, and club events where needed.
What We’re Looking For:
•LTA Accredited Level 2-5 Coach (or working towards higher qualification)
•Energetic, enthusiastic and motivated to grow grassroots tennis
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•Experience working with a range of ages and abilities (both juniors and adults)
•A team player with the ability to work independently to develop new programmes
•Valid DBS, Safeguarding & First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
What We Offer:
•Competitive rates of pay (based on qualification & experience)
•Flexible working hours with scope to increase sessions as the programme grows
•Opportunities for professional development and mentoring
•A supportive, friendly coaching team and welcoming tennis community
•Access to excellent facilities at both venues
If you’re passionate about growing the game and making tennis accessible to all, we’d love to hear from you!
Byfleet LTC is a vibrant, community-focused club offering outstanding facilities and a welcoming atmosphere for players of all ages and abilities. Our main site features 13 courts — 11 outdoor and 2 indoor — and is home to a thriving programme for both juniors and adults. The junior programme runs over 40 sessions each week, engaging more than 250 children in regular coaching and activities. For adults, we offer 10 structured coaching sessions alongside multiple social and competitive club sessions throughout the week.
We have recently expanded our reach by partnering with the LTA to grow tennis opportunities at West Byfleet Park, where two brand-new hard courts now host a developing programme. Here, we’re introducing a selection of adult courses and offering free community tennis sessions at weekends.
At Byfleet LTC, our mission is to create an inclusive and friendly environment where everyone can enjoy tennis — whether socially or competitively. We are committed to providing excellent playing facilities and memorable social experiences for people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds from the local community.
We are seeking an engaging and committed tennis coach who will contribute to the continued growth and success of our club across both Byfleet LTC and our new West Byfleet Park venue. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following attributes:
•Energetic and Enthusiastic: Passionate about inspiring players of all ages and motivated to grow grassroots tennis within the community.
•Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Able to connect effectively with players, parents, and colleagues, creating a positive and supportive coaching environment.
•Experience Across Ages and Abilities: Confident coaching both juniors and adults, with a proven track record of delivering sessions that cater to a variety of skill levels.
•Team Player with Initiative: Comfortable working as part of a collaborative coaching team, while also capable of independently developing new programmes and initiatives to enhance participation and engagement.
•Proactive and Driven to Grow New Programmes: Brings initiative, creativity, and determination to help establish and expand the tennis offering at our brand-new West Byfleet Park courts, including building adult courses and delivering community sessions.
