Coach at Ayr Lawn Tennis Club (Scotland)
To organise and deliver a junior and adult Coaching Programme within the club building on an established program of around 25 hours/week of classes, squads and match play. In addition, there are opportunities to run holiday camps and give individual lessons. Liaise with the Club’s management Committee as regards provision of court time for coaching and other activities, supply of balls and equipment and safeguarding policies. Administration duties associated with the Coaching Programmes and liaison with parents.
We have 3 artificial clay courts (2 flood lit) which are situated in quiet, walled surroundings with a clubhouse that contains changing rooms and a small kitchen plus two further recently-resurfaced courts (tarmac) are located 10 minutes away which also offer Pay and Play opportunity. Our membership consists of about 100 juniors and 100 seniors. We have 4 gents and 3 ladies’ teams playing in the Ayrshire leagues and 5 teams in the mini leagues. There is a full calendar of events including Club Championships, Box Leagues and Fun Doubles Tournaments. Over the winter months, we lease a large school games hall on Wednesday evenings to facilitate indoor mini tennis classes. The club is run by a Committee of enthusiastic volunteers who bring a range of skills and experience and provide support to the Coach.
We are looking for a friendly, proactive, enthusiastic Coach who can organise their own Coaching Programmes and associated competitive opportunities. You will need to have good communication skills and reliability.
