Smash Padel are looking to recruit a full-time Centre manager for our five court Padel tennis centre at Oxford Sports Lawn Tennis Club. This person will have the ambition and determination to lead a team to deliver the exiting new sport of Padel to the communities of Oxford. The facilities will include five panoramic floodlit courts, changing facilities and a pavilion to provide a reception, shop and refreshments. We have a vibrant customer base and introduce new activities for people of all ages and abilities.

The role: To strategically lead the business growth and development of Smash Padel, Oxford

Main duties & responsibilities

Responsible and accountable for the overall strategic management of Smash Padel, Oxford, its facilities, programme growth and facility development
Responsible for ensuring the facilities has effective day to day operational management
Develop and maintain all policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with safeguarding, health & safety plus all legal obligations
Drive commercial performance through an innovative approach: delivering excellent standards and services that both meet the customer needs and occupancy targets as set out in the objectives for the centre
Work closely with key stakeholders including community groups, employees, Oxford Brookes University, the LTA and Smash Padel management to ensure the facilities and Padel programmes continue to grow and improve
Manage the Padel programmes across the Smash Padel offering in conjunction with the programme manager (Miguel Cam) to ensure the programmes are planned and delivered to the highest standards.
Adopt and implement the Smash Padel inclusive policy to offer Padel to all community groups and players
Work with your team to develop initiatives to recruit new customers and create an event calendar that supports maximising court usage
Ensure the Smash Padel brand profile and core values are marketed correctly. Securing content in order to promote our services through all media channels with campaigns to drive increased footfall
Oversea the stock control for kit, equipment and F&B products
Ensure the facility is safe and secure and manage supplier contracts and agreements

Qualifications
Either a leisure or sports management degree (Or equivalent) or
commensurate industry experience
Experience of leading, managing and motivating a team delivering
operations management and co-ordination in a small to medium sized
organisation
Background in team sports as either a player, coach or administrator
Experience of business development planning, goal setting, review
process and analysing performance
Strong commercial background in revenue generation and using
effective marketing techniques to drive growth whilst delivering
outstanding customer service
Managing governance via the implementation and update of relevant
policies, such as safeguarding and health &safety
Working with a senior management team, providing performance
reports, working to KPI’s and implementing a ‘shared vision’ strategy
Knowledge of NGB’s and local government strategies
Digital marekting and its implementation. How to use content to support
promotion and advertising
Good standard of IT literacy with the aptitude to self-teach
Ability to adapt and change to challenging circumstances alongside
motivation and commitment to work flexible hours to meet the needs of
the business
Knowledge of how the ‘Long Term Athlete Development’ cycle works and
how an awards based environment restricts development
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and deliver revenue
targets
Understand how important the ‘Review’ process is and how to challenge
poor performance without impacting relationships and staff motivation
