Apprentice Tennis Coach
We are looking for a passionate Apprentice Tennis Coach to support the delivery of high-quality tennis sessions across Gidea Park LTC and Raphael Park Tennis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a developing coach to gain experience in both club and community settings while receiving mentoring and support from experienced LTA-accredited coaches.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
•Assist with the delivery of group coaching sessions, including:
•LTA Youth Start, Tennis Express, Adult Coaching, and Free Parks Tennis
•Help manage on-court activities and support players of all ages and levels
•Represent the coaching team during club and community sessions
•Learn through shadowing and structured mentoring as part of your development pathway

🔹 Candidate Requirements:
•LTA Assistant (Level 1) Qualification (minimum)
•Currently LTA Accredited or Accredited+
•Willingness to learn and grow in a team environment
•Enthusiastic communicator and positive role model
•DBS, First Aid & Safeguarding certificates (or willingness to obtain)
Gidea Park Lawn Tennis Club is a thriving, friendly members’ club located in Romford, Essex, with a strong coaching programme that supports players of all ages and abilities. We also deliver community tennis at Raphael Park, offering accessible tennis through Free Parks Tennis and LTA Youth programmes. The club has a strong emphasis on development (inc Essex County pathways), inclusion, and growing the game locally. We work closely with the LTA and local schools to increase participation and provide progression opportunities for players and coaches alike.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed apprentice coach who is eager to learn and grow in a supportive environment. The ideal candidate will:
•Hold (or be working towards) LTA Level 1 (minimum)
•Be LTA Accredited or Accredited+
•Be passionate about coaching and developing players of all ages
•Communicate confidently and work well in a team
•Be organised, reliable, and have a positive attitude
•Be willing to undertake DBS, First Aid, and Safeguarding training if not already held
