Andy Murray’s final against Aslan Karatsev at the Sydney Tennis Classic, will be shown live across BBC Digital Channels (Red Button, iPlayer, BBC Sport website and BBC Sport app) on Saturday 15 January from 8:00am GMT.

Murray – who is playing to win his 47th ATP Tour title – entered this week’s event as a wildcard but defeated top 25 opponents, Nikoloz Basilashvili and Reilly Opelka, as well as former World No.7, David Goffin, to reach the final.

Currently ranked World No.135, Murray will be hoping that a win will set him up for a strong performance at the Australian Open starting next week, where he faces a rematch with Basilashvili in the first round.

Standing in Murray’s way of winning his first title since 2019 is top seed Karatsev, who famously reached the semi-finals at the Australian Open last year on his Grand Slam debut.

This week Karatsev has won a couple of close battles, including an impressive victory over Lorenzo Sonego and a three-hour clash with British No.2 Dan Evans in the semi-finals.

This will be the first time the British and Russian stars have faced each other on tour.
