Magdalena Rybarikov with Ilkley trophy

Record-breaking crowds have watched dozens of outstanding tennis matches at Ilkley Lawn Tennis & Squash Club over the last nine days at the annual Aegon Ilkley Trophy.

Sunday was no different and many fans were there to witness the victories of Marton Fucsovics (HUN) and Magdalena Rybarikova (SVK).

Fucsovics cruised past his Australian opponent Alex Bolt 6-1, 6-4 to lift the trophy, while Rybarikova battled past Alison Van Uytvanck of Belgium 7-5, 7-5.

In doubles, Leander Paes (IND) and Adil Shamasdin (CAN) fought back from a set down to defeat British pair Brydan Klein and Joe Salisbury 2-6, 6-2 [10-8] and Russian duo Anna Blinkova and Alla Kudryavtseva sailed past Paula Kania (POL) and Maryna Zanevska (BEL) 6-1, 6-4.

Tournament Director Charlie Maunder said: We’ve seen a 20% increase in spectators to the Aegon Ilkley Trophy this year and we’ve welcomed hundreds of players – some already household names like Laura Robson and Marcus Willis – some almost certainly to make their mark in the very near future.

"It has been a pleasure, from day one of qualifying to the final serve on centre court, and I look forward to welcoming everyone back again in 2018.”

The Aegon Ilkley Trophy is part of the ATP Challenger and ITF Pro Circuit tours and has a total prize fund of $250,000, making it part of the highest value circuit at this level in the world leading into a Grand Slam tournament.
