Crowds at Run 4 Wales start line
Tennis Wales

Run 4 Wales Tennis Partnership

• 2 MINUTE READ

We’re teaming up with Run 4 Wales to help find 100 runners to join Tennis Wales in raising funds across three events based in South Wales throughout the year.

This is on a trial basis and if successful we hope to be able to join up with some North Wales runs in the future.

How does it work?

Through our partnership we’ve secured 100 spaces* for tennis fans, players, parents, volunteers & coaches to take part in either a 10km or family 2km run at three upcoming Run 4 Wales events:

Cardiff Bay Run : 29th March 2020 POSTPONED UNTIL 15th NOVEMBER 2020

Porthcawl Run : 5th July 2020

Barry Run : 2nd August 2020

What do I have to do?

We’re asking runners to fundraise to help us invest even more back into tennis. By taking part, you’ll commit to raising £150 (as an individual or a family if running the family run) for Tennis Wales, which goes to support some of our new plans for opening tennis up across Wales, with more funding, bursaries, clothing & equipment for the people playing our sport.

All finishers of the 10K runs will receive a Cardiff/Porthcawl or Barry t-shirt and medal, which can be collected at the end of the run. Any families running in the fun run will receive a medal.

Those who raise £150 for the 10k runs will receive a Tennis Wales T-shirt and families raising £150 will receive a goodie bag.

How do I sign up?

Entry links for the 10K runs are as follows, entries are priced at £10 and runners have to tick to agree to a £150 fundraising pledge as they sign up:

Cardiff Bay – Deadline: 9th March.

Porthcawl 10K - Deadline: 5th July

Barry Island 10K - Deadline : 2nd August

For the family races, contact maria.rees@tenniswales.org.uk stating the number of people in your family that are looking to take part, and confirm that you accept the £150 fundraising pledge. We will then send you a link and code for sign up.

Please note that spaces are limited for each race.

To fundraise we recommend you set up an online fundraising page such as ‘Just Giving’ or if your child would like a sponsorship form then please let me know. You can find some useful fundraising tips here.

*100 spaces split over the 3 events.
