Coach Accreditation Renewal Grace Period Extension & Online CPD

Coach Accreditation Renewal Grace Period Extension

What is it?

We are aware that there may be difficulties faced by LTA Accredited or Accredited+ Coaches whose accreditation expires (or has expired) during (or just before) the ongoing coronavirus COVID-19 crisis. To help with this, we have agreed a period of leniency for renewing accreditation, which will see a temporary extension to the normal accreditation renewal grace period following expiry of your accreditation.

During this period, coaches who were previously LTA Accredited or Accredited+ Coaches and who are in their accreditation renewal grace period will now have that grace period extended to, and be covered by the insurance policies until, 31 July 2020.

Who is eligible?

This temporary extension will apply to those coaches whose LTA Coach Accreditation renewal grace period was due to end between 21 March and 30 July 2020 (both dates inclusive). If you fall into this category we have automatically extended your accreditation renewal grace period until 31 July 2020. This will provide temporary relief from the need to complete accreditation renewal pre-requisites including DBS check, safeguarding and first aid training and CPD credits, by extending their validity until 31 July 2020.

Coaches not already LTA accredited will need to meet requirements as normal. It may therefore not be possible for new coaches to become accredited during this period, due to an inability to complete training and other requirements.

Independent Learning

What is it?

Many coaches wishing to maintain Accredited+ status will find it difficult to gain the required 15 CPD credits with limited face to face CPD currently in operation.

To support coaches at this difficult time we will be running Independent Learning as a trial period until 31st August 2020. Independent learning will allow coaches to source quality and relevant CPD that is based on their needs and interests, and be awarded CPD credits upon successful reflection of learning for activities completed in the last 12 months. This will include a flexible range of formal and informal learning and can be outside of the core LTA offering.

Who is eligible?

All LTA coaches can apply through the Independent Learning form.
