Sherborne Tennis Coaching is looking to appoint a self-sufficient, professional and motivated Coach and/or Instructor to assist with an increasing demand for tennis coaching in this area.

 

The ideal candidate will be independent and flexible and may be required to work any hours Monday-Saturday between 8:30am and 9pm.

 

Personal administration, registration and record-keeping are required for all groups/lessons taught and players attended. Coaches working in schools may be asked to write a short termly report on progress for parents each term. These activities form part of the expected levels of professionalism accompanying the role and coaches should be willing and punctual in their preparation of these.

Sherborne Tennis Coaching provides professional tennis coaches to Sherborne Tennis Club as well as several leading independent schools in the area (Sherborne Girls School, Sherborne Prep, Leweston) and has strong links with a number of primary schools in the area. We provide term-time coaching to over 250 players in independent school settings and have a strong primary outreach programme covering 10 local schools.

 

Our popular Easter and Summer Holiday programme draws in over 200 players each season and offers classes at both recreational and performance levels; we also operate a residential tennis camp at a local boarding attracting both international and domestic players. In addition to this, coaches are able to build up a portfolio of private clients.

 

Sherborne Tennis Club is a well-known venue in Dorset, boasting 8 floodlit courts (4 artificial clay and 4 hardcourt) and 2 bespoke permanent mini courts (one indoor). The club is well-known in Dorset with a membership of over 200; teams playing in several different leagues as well as hosting a number of LTA sanctioned tournaments and internal competitive opportunities.

The successful candidate(s) will be an independent and pro-active coach with experience working with players from all backgrounds, ages and abilities Experience leading groups for recreational and social tennis as well as performance players would be an advantage, as would experience of the LTA Youth and mini Tennis programmes.

 

Ideally qualified to Level 2 or above, applications from strong and ambitious Level 1 candidates will be considered.

 

A high degree of professionalism and presentation is required of all coaches.

 

NB: All candidates must already have the right to work in the UK, no sponsorship can be provided. All applicants invited to interview should be able to provide evidence of their right to work, as well as proof of identity and DBS clearance as appropriate.
