This full-time position offers a unique blend of on-court coaching and off-court management duties, overseeing the day-to-day operations of Stafford Manor Indoor Tennis Centre.

The successful candidate will not only lead our coaching programme but also ensure the smooth functioning of the Centre. Initially, responsibilities will be equally divided between on-court coaching and off-court duties.

However, as the Centre grows, the role will evolve, with an increased focus on off-court management while continuing to support the expansion of our coaching team.

Stafford Manor Indoor Tennis Centre, formally known as Baseline Tennis Centre, is located within Stafford manor High School in the bustling market town of Stafford. The Centre opened in 2010 and although located within school, it boasts its own independent access allowing for autonomy from the schools site. The facilities includes:

  •  3 indoor courts with viewing gallery
  • 3 outdoor courts - Dedicated Car park and entrance
  • Reception area
  • Store room(s)
  • Office space and internet access

National Tennis Association (NTA) were recently awarded the management of the facility, and will be reopening the facility to the public in April 2024.

NTA has been supporting tennis within the UK since 2004. We are a social enterprise, working alongside the LTA as a National Partner to inspire, develop and educate.

The successful applicant will ideally be an LTA Accredited Level 4 coach or above (but we will accept exceptional Level 3 candidates) and have:

On-Court: 

  • Mastery in implementing cutting-edge LTA coaching techniques and tailoring sessions to cater to a range of skill levels, ensuring a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
  • Proficiency in using technology and performance metrics to track player progress, set goals, and deliver targeted feedback that propels players toward excellence.
  • Commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of all participants by adhering to safeguarding policies and promoting a positive and inclusive sporting environment.

Off-Court Responsibilities:

  • Strong strategic planning skills to develop and execute long-term visions for the Centre’s growth, including infrastructure improvements, program expansion, and financial sustainability.
  • Exceptional ability to engage with stakeholders, including the school, local authorities, national tennis bodies, and community organisations, to foster partnerships.
  • Creative marketing and PR skills to effectively promote the Centre’s programmes and events through various channels, including social media, local press, and community outreach, driving increased participation and visibility.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities, capable of recruiting, training, and mentoring staff and volunteers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to navigate disputes among staff or members diplomatically and maintain a harmonious Centre environment.

General Skills and Qualities:

  • The capacity to adapt to changing priorities and roles, particularly as the Centre grows and the balance of responsibilities shifts.
  • A creative problem-solving approach, able to address challenges and identify opportunities for improvement within both coaching and management realms.
  • A dedication to personal and professional development, staying abreast of the latest trends in tennis coaching, sports management, and customer service.
