To be able to access certain coach qualifications a basic playing standard is required. The Play Test allows people to be assessed against the relevant entry playing criteria for a specific qualification. To ensure a steady flow of world class players in Britain it is essential we have a system of talent identification to spot potential performance players at a young age. Players between the ages of 6 and 10 years are identified by their local clubs and coaches and names forwarded to the LTA talent team. These players are then invited to attend talent ID and coaching sessions.
