
Tennis Clubmark is a club’s opportunity to be recognised for achieving excellent standards. All types of tennis club are eligible to apply, including traditional tennis clubs, school clubs, tennis programmes based in parks, and those working within the commercial sector. Achieving Tennis Clubmark means the LTA endorses and supports a club’s tennis programme, policies and procedures, action and development planning, and club management.
The benefits of achieving Tennis Clubmark:
- Recognition for the tennis programmes your club is delivering, and endorsement from the LTA
- Recognition by Sport England, through a well known national scheme that spans across a number of sports
- Eligibility to receive LTA funding (includes facility grants and loans and programme funding through HPCs and Satellite clubs)
- Be advertised on the national Clubmark website and the LTA website
- Ability to develop partnerships at a local level - many schools and school sport partnerships are requiring that the clubs they work with must have Tennis Clubmark
- Tennis Clubmark plaque that can be displayed at your club
- Be able to use the Tennis Clubmark logo on your clubs literature
How to apply
To qualify for Tennis Clubmark status, you first need to be affiliated to the LTA.

To apply, contact your LTA county office. They will provide you with a resource pack and evidence file and can support you through the process.
There is no cost to apply. You will however be required to invest time in collating information to meet Tennis Clubmark criteria and your coaches and club representatives will be required to attend courses in child protection, equity in your coaching and first aid if they have not already attended these courses.

So what are the criteria?
Tennis Clubmark is split into 4 sections:
- Club Action Planning – The action plan provides a focus for the development of your club and provides you with tools to track progress.
- Tennis Programmes – Here you need to document your tennis programme listing all the tennis coaching and competition activities happening at your club for adults and juniors and who is responsible for ensuring they are delivered. You will need to deliver a full year round programme of coaching and competition from mini tennis red in order to achieve Tennis Clubmark.
- Policies and Procedures – You will need to demonstrate that your club has policies and procedures in place in the areas of child protection, equality and diversity and health and safety.
- Club Management – You will need to demonstrate that your club is managed and promoted in line with good practice.
