Job description

As Head Coach you will organise, monitor, evaluate and amend the coaching programme in consultation with the Committee. Links, already established with other local clubs, such as Ackworth, will need developing as well as links with local schools. You will need to be engaging, energetic, and encouraging to grow the current coaching programme and develop the current competition programme including mini/junior tournaments. In order to do this you will need to be up to date with Clubspark, being able to take over the management of this, along with the running of the clubs website and social media as part of your role.

The successful candidate will join the club as a paying member and will be a member of the committee, working to promote and develop the club as appropriate, attending meetings which are held approximately every three months.

Overview of company

Sandal is a well established tennis club with six tarmacadam courts (4 of which are floodlit). We have a healthy membership of adults and juniors with a well established coaching programme running throughout the year. We have a number of teams, both junior and senior, playing in local leagues. We have a club house and a car park.

Person specification

To be considered for the role you must be reliable and trustworthy with a friendly, positive and enthusiastic approach to coaching. Willing to work with players of all ages and standards in groups and individually, you must be motivated and able to motivate. You will be keen to develop the players, our two coaches, yourself and the coaching programme to get more players playing more often, therefore organisational skills are therefore a key feature of this role.

The ideal candidate will be a passionate, enthusiastic and committed individual who is able to work both independently and as a member of a team. The ability to inspire and encourage both adults and juniors to enjoy and improve their tennis is essential. IT skills are necessary as part of the role is to use and develop the use of Clubspark, update and improve the club’s website and social media. Training will be available for this, if required.
