Family: Father Keith is a former Paralympic medallist, having won a bronze medal in a 100m wheelchair racing event in New York in 1984. After giving birth to son Jackson in January 2018, Whiley got engaged to fiancé and former Paralympian Marc McCarroll at Wimbledon in 2019. They are due to get married in November 2021.

2020 2020 addremove

Started the year by winning her first Grand Slam title since becoming a mum and her tenth Grand Slam doubles title with Yui Kamiji of Japan after they won the Australian Open. Added the women’s singles and doubles titles at the ITF 2 Bolton Indoor. Ended 2020 by partnering Kamiji to win their second US Open women's doubles title, taking their caeer tally of  Grand Slam titles together to eleven.

Launched her comeback to international competition after maternity leave in February 2019, starting the year unranked and regaining her place at world No.5 in singles by the end of the year, Won six singles titles and reached a further three singles finals during the year, also winning six doubles titles from eight doubles finals.

Became a mum at the end of January 2018 after giving birth to son Jackson, with whom Whiley was 11 weeks pregnant when winning the Wimbledon ladies’ doubles title in 2017.
