Head Coach - Elgin
Elgin Tennis Club is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced tennis coach to lead a program of coaching to all ages. With group and individual coaching there is potential for the successful candidate to develop a full time role.
Our head coach must be well organised, punctual, engaging and able to deliver high quality coaching. The position is a self employed role. We currently offer coaching throughout the year and also offer camps during summer and autumn. We expect the coach to support coaching of local school children, lead on organising (with parent volunteers) junior teams, and help to promote our Club in general, including participation in our annual Open Day.
We are looking for a level 3 coach, but will consider a level 2 and club will support them to work towards level 3.
Elgin Tennis Club has 4 artificial clay courts (2 with floodlights) and 3 floodlit porous tar courts. All 7 courts were refurbished in 2024. With 140 members the club currently has a program of group coaching for all ages and abilities. There are junior teams for all ages from 8u to 16u and 8 adult teams competing in the district leagues.
The Club is run by a supportive volunteer committee who will support the coach with the delivery of open days , schools events, competitions. The committee will work towards the common goal of more tennis players playing at a higher standard. The committee can support the coach by providing priority clubspark court booking, court maintenance, equipment, publicity and promotions via social media and club emails.
Previous experience in delivering engaging tennis lessons and coaching services to children and adults.
LTA coach qualification, UKCC level 2 (preferably working towards L3) or above, and an up-to-date LTA licence.
Good listening, Interpersonal and communication skills .
Ability to lead a team of volunteers and coaches.
Good administration skills
Good organisation and time keeping skills.
