Regional Performance Development Centre - Assistant Coach
We are currently looking to appoint an Assistant Coach for the RPDC, who will help with the coaching of tennis throughout the RPDC, reporting to and working closely with the Head of RPDC and Head of Performance Tennis at the school. This is a part-time, self-employed contract for approximately 20 hours per week, across all three terms, as well as hours into the school holidays for training and competition. The individual will work with all players within the RPDC, as well as sessions within the RSTA (Reed’s School Tennis Academy).
The role-holder will be looking to gain experience of working in a high-class environment and be driven to developing players and teams. It is a fantastic opportunity to work with the programme’s top tennis players and as part of a hugely experienced and well qualified coaching team.
Reed’s School is one of the leading Independent Day and Boarding Schools in the country providing an education for over 800 pupils. The School is all-boys from 11-16 and has a co-educational Sixth Form. The school has an outstanding reputation for tennis and this role is vital in the continuation of that success.
The Assistant Coach will work closely with and under the direction of the Head of Performance Tennis, helping to delivering a performance tennis programme for elite junior players with an age range of 10-14 years.
The RPDC Assistant Coach will help with the planning and delivery of sessions for all players within the RPDC. There will also be opportunity to work with players from within the Reed’s School Tennis Academy.
The successful candidate will need to be LTA accredited to a minimum of Level 3 & ideally be working towards achieving their Level 4 or 5 qualification.
On occasions, the Assistant Coach will be required to travel both nationally and internationally with selected players therefore full working knowledge of LTA and Reed’s School safeguarding guidelines will be required.
The role-holder will be required to work to the highest professional standards to maintain Reed’s position at the forefront of school tennis.
The role will be part-time and self-employed, (approximately 20 hours per week) working across all 3 terms, as well as over the school holidays in providing coaching and tournament support.
