Coach - Self Employed
As our primary and only coach we are looking for a versatile person who can coach the youngsters on a Saturday morning and other ad hoc times, to offer our members private lessons, to offer our four teams group training. We'd welcome you into the teams if you'd like to. We're really looking for someone with a sense of fun to bring their energy and excitement for tennis and infuse our club with a commitment to improve the tennis and enjoyment we share for the game.
We are fortunate to have arguably the most beautifully situated courts in the British Isles. We are perched just a 100 yards above the stunning Porthmeor Beach and the club sits in such a way that it is most often shielded from wind. We have two recently fitted artificial clay courts that are the envy of the rest of Cornwall.
We have around 160 local residents and about 45 out of county members, plus many holiday makers who often seek out our current coach. We have good court availability to a new coach looking to build a great reputation and begin a positive relationship with our club. There would be 1000 hours per year available at least with potential for more. There is plenty of scope for developing the coaching.
We have a strong social membership who play mix-ins regularly during the week, our men's team has just maintained their second season in the top county league and we have a strong wider men's doubles sessions and matches. Our Women's team is also playing at a high quality. The mixed winter league is enthusiastically played and we've been guilty of firing up the BBQ and having special tennis days and club finals day is always good fun.
The Junior section is good and our current coach has done a great job of consistently keeping the Junior throughput going for many years, in addition to having good links to all the local schools. There is supplementary coaching potential at a nearby campsite and hotel with their own courts.
We have a small but sweet clubhouse facing the bay and all in all, we're a cracking little club hoping to find perhaps someone looking to relocate longterm or who lives locally already. Please check out our website for pictures of our club.
We think the ideal candidate will have a great mix of people skills, a fun and positive outlook and a passion for the game itself.
