An excellent opportunity has arisen due to the relocation of the current coach. During term times, this position will offer approximately 15 daytime hours/week at a private school and approximately 12 hours/week at an established tennis club. Holiday lessons are also offered.

Additional private lessons will be encouraged at the tennis club as well as the opportunity to set up new adult sessions with the help of the Head Coach. This is an amazing opportunity for a coach to establish regular on-court hours and work with an established LTA Level 5 coach to help and mentor them.

David Gill has been an LTA coach for 28 years working exclusively in the Surrey area. For the majority of this time he has been Head Coach at Aldro School and Camberley LTC.
Aldro has three outdoor tennis courts and an indoor sports hall. The tennis programme runs all year round and approximately 140 pupils sign up for lessons. Lessons take place throughout the school day starting at 8am.

Camberley Lawn Tennis Club is a thriving 5 court club, 3 clay courts and 2 macadam. All courts are floodlit, enabling all year round play. The current membership figure is approximately 400, split between adults and juniors. Junior lessons take place throughout the week after school and there is also a junior club night. In addition, there are adult lessons and adult social sessions.

This role will only be offered to an exceptional candidate who has the desire to work hard and learn at all times. This opportunity is for someone who sees themselves staying in the role for a long period of time. The following criteria are essential:

– Qualified to a minimum of LTA Level 2 and LTA Accredited.
– An enthusiastic/energetic personality and ability to mix and engage with players of all ages, parents, school staff, other coaches etc.
– A professional appearance.
– Exceptional time-keeping.
– Excellent communication skills.
- Hold a driving licence.
– A commitment to school term times for all lessons.
– An up to date DBS certificate and proof of safeguarding courses attended.
– An up to date first aid certificate.
– An ability to problem-solve and use common sense if necessary.
– An ability to adjust coaching techniques dependant on pupil age/ability or size of group.
– Not afraid to ask for advice and guidance when required.
– Be motivated with a desire to improve skills and knowledge.
– An ability to keep records and record results for tournaments etc.
– A good knowledge of LTA programmes such as LTA Youth etc.
