The successful applicant will play an integral part in the close-knit coaching team delivering the highest quality sessions across our extensive junior and adult programmes.

The appointed coach will work a minimum of 25 hours per week during term time across our junior and adult coaching programmes, supported on and off court by the Junior Tennis Manager. There is a high demand for private lessons and the right candidate can expect to build a significant number of additional hours as well as deliver clinics, internal tournaments, socials and tennis holidays. During school holidays they will join our holiday camp team delivering tennis sessions up to 14 weeks of the year.

We pride ourselves on our ability to manage and deliver an exceptional programme. The successful applicant will play a crucial part in maintaining our high standards by committing to attend a weekly meeting, assisting with the set-up of sessions and generally embodying the company values.

Emma Wells Tennis actively supports committed individuals with continuous professional development, after 12 months of service there will be financial contribution towards career development in tennis for the successful individual as well as access to PTR qualifications and workshops. Coaches are provided with a full Adidas kit and benefit from discounts with our racket sponsor Wilson.

Emma Wells Tennis is situated in the heart of Wimbledon Park and sees over 500 junior and 250 adult participants each week and is the largest single-site junior park program in the UK. We have access to well maintained and floodlit astroturf tennis courts which provide a fantastic facility for a year round program.

Our coaching philosophy is centred around three main pillars. We promote a team ethos throughout our tennis community building positive and long lasting ‘connections’ with our players. We keep ‘technical’ teaching simple and develop ‘physical’ skills in a fun and engaging environment. The company has featured on ITV This Morning and BBC News showcasing our impact on tennis in the UK.

The company has its own office located next to the courts and makes use of other great facilities including an on-site park cafe and beach volleyball courts. There is excellent access for both public and private transport.

The company has many strategic partners including Putney High School, The Oak Montessori, many other local schools and also The Homework Space in Southfields.

The candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience and be LTA Level 3 or equivalent (PTR, USTA, RPT accepted). A very strong LTA Level 2 who is in the process of applying for or currently in the process of completing their LTA Level 3 qualification will be considered & will be supported through their coach education.

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, energised and engaging professional who is looking for a great opportunity to work in a stimulating environment with a forward thinking team. They will lead by example demonstrating their passion for tennis, always being patient with players and positively motivating them towards success. They will be a committed, reliable career coach, looking for a long term next step in their coaching career.

They will have excellent time management skills and be able to commit to a regular weekly schedule. Effective and adaptable communication skills are essential and the candidate will be confident working independently, leading and assisting as part of a team.

The candidate will hold valid DBS, First Aid and Safeguarding certificates and either citizenship or the right to remain in the UK.
