This would initially be a part-time position with 8 hours of group sessions available immediately, then the opportunity to build up to full-time hours with a mix of groups and individuals. These groups are established groups which have been running for many years and have strong numbers of attendance.

These groups would be a combination of pay & play groups and set courses. Coaches are paid a percentage of the total income from groups, which is incentivised with higher pay for higher numbers of attendees. Further details of the pay structure will be provided on request.

This position has become available due to head coach having a young family and wanting to spend time with them at the weekend, as well as wanting more time off court developing the business and creating more opportunities for coaches and players. Another member of the coaching team has also had a change in availability so we wanted to take this opportunity to add to our team and create more flexibility.

This is a great opportunity to expand the coaching team. The successful applicant will have real scope to take on existing well established groups and expand into other groups and individuals. This will help to develop their own coaching experience, philosophy and confidence, as well as grow Bourne 4 Tennis, leading to more opportunities in the future.

Working within park sites is a great opportunity to try new things, to be creative, and free to coach in your way, without the restraints common in large clubs. This freedom will give you an exciting opportunity to explore, challenge and shape who are as a coach. Park sites also give you a unique opportunity to connect with the local community and provide a service which meets their needs. We are not focused on targets but on providing accessible exercise, fresh air and fun for all ages and abilities. Our aim is to get as many people as possible on court enjoying tennis and developing their game, so if this is your passion too, come and join the team!

  • Winton Recreation Ground (6 courts)
  • Swanmore Gardens (8 courts)
  • Shelley Park (3 courts)
  • Redhill Park (3 courts)

West Hants Club run the membership to these sites through Tennis in the Park, where households pay a small annual fee to give them access to all 4 park sites for up to 1 hour a day.

All our courts are outdoor. Winton Recreation Ground is the main venue boasting 4 floodlit courts. Coaches are expected to be able to work at any site.

Bourne 4 Tennis started at just 1 site with head coach Matt, and has expanded over the years to 4 sites with 4 coaches, and we plan to expand further. We aim to nurture coaching talent and also to help develop young coaches who are just starting out in their coaching journey.

  • Be passionate and enthusiastic about their love for the game and to share it with the community
  • Well organised with regards to balancing their individual lessons around commitments to the coaching business

  • Willing to take control of their workload and be autonomous
