This is a full time tennis coaching role starting with 9 hours of core group delivery in Luton, which are set and 10 hours of Coaching in Bedford Parks (not set yet, can work around the Coach) plus the opportunity to build up hours of individual coaching. This role is perfect for someone looking for full time or part-time opportunities, but equally it will be suitable for an individual looking to build hours as there is scope for the role to be a full-time position.


On-court delivery consists of LTA Youth through to Adult group sessions on a weekly basis. The project has a waiting list of players ready to kickstart a new programme. As Bedford is a new programme with new provision, we have flexibility to work with the successful candidate to determine the programme schedule around the three blocks of coaching in Luton.


The successful candidate will have the ability to deliver an individual coaching and the candidate can run a self-employed coaching business alongside delivering a group coaching programme.


On-Court Delivery:

Conduct tennis coaching sessions, including LTA Youth Start, Tennis Express, Adult Sessions, and Cardio Tennis. Develop school/club links to enhance coaching programme.

Personal Coaching Business: Opportunity to supplement income through individual coaching on a self-employed basis. Full or Part-time role, under 20 hours per week, plus up to 10 hours of individual coaching.

Potential for additional income from personal coaching, School outreach and Camps, estimated 10k per annum.

Bedford Parks is a multi park site which is a new project part of a £30 million investment by the LTA and to refurbish park tennis courts across Great Britain. The project is being delivered by the LTA but supported by Bedford Council and aims to open up the sport to many more people by ensuring that quality facilities are available for local communities.

  • Bedford Park 
  • Addison Howard Park 
  • Allen Park 
  • Linden Road Tennis Courts 
  • Mowsbury Park - Russell Park 
  • Southfields Park

The three sites that we already have provision for in Luton are:

  • Lewsey Park
  • Wardown Park
  • Hoo Memorial Park

The successful applicant will ideally be an LTA Accredited Level 3 coach or above (but we will accept exceptional Level 2 candidates) and have:


A minimum 2 years experience as an Accredited LTA Coach, tailoring sessions to cater to a range of skill levels, ensuring a dynamic and engaging learning environment.

Commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of all participants by adhering to safeguarding policies and promoting a positive and inclusive sporting environment.

Off-Court Responsibilities:

Strong planning skills to develop and execute long-term visions for programme growth.

Ability to engage with NTA management, Schools and Parents Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to problem solve.

General Skills and Qualities:

A dedication to personal and professional development, staying abreast of the latest trends in tennis coaching, sports management, and customer service.
