Club Coach
Our busy programme will soon be expanding across two venues in Christchurch and we are looking for the right coach to come and be a part of this exciting new project with us!
The new programme will be starting from Monday 15th April, so we are looking for a new coach to start on that date or soon after.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, motivated, confident with players of all ages, have quality communication skills and be able to work with players of all ages and abilities you would expect in club tennis.
Sessions will range from adults groups to under 6s Reds to disability sessions to schools clubs and holiday camps too.
There will be around 16 hours of group lessons available right away, with more sessions planned to start as the programme continues to grow. There will be lots of opportunity for private lessons too.
Required:
- LTA Accredited or Accredited +
- DBS, First Aid and Safeguarding certified
- LTA Youth qualified (courses attended)
- Holds the right to work in the UK
- Set up as self-employed
Desirable:
- Experience working with school groups
- Experience working with variety of age groups
- Cardio Tennis instructor qualified
- Experience delivering sessions in schools
- Experience working with a range of age groups and abilities; juniors, adults, beginners to advanced.
There will be support available to the coach, with additional training and mentoring options on offer to them as an option.
Our programme and membership will be based across two clubs in Christchurch:

Around 70 players were attending the previous coaching programme on a weekly basis
We will be merging both club memberships and programmes together to create a single group of; over 170 members and more than 400 players on a weekly basis, with these numbers expected to increase as the programme beomces more established. We are also in the process of building new school links in the area which will also support the growth of the programme and provide more hours for coaches too.
We plan on running a community-based programme, but with clear pathways for players to work towards competing at higher levels, with a number of existing players involved at county level and some players currently competing at regional and national level now too. The new coach would be welcome, and encouraged, to pursue these opportunities with the players they work with, alongside supporting the club programme at all levels.
