Playing in only her second Grand Slam event, Raducanu has been near faultless on her way to the final. The 18-year-old is yet to drop a set and has only lost 27 games in her five main draw matches.

Her return of serve continues to be one of her biggest strengths – she won 47% of all return points against Sakkari in the semi-finals.

Fernandez’s run to the US Open final has been nothing short of astounding – defeating three of the top-5 seeds. In the third round, she knocked out the two-time and reigning champion Naomi Osaka in three sets, before going on to beat World No.4 Elina Svitolina in the quarter-final and second seed Aryna Sabalenka in the semis.

Like Raducanu, Fernandez’s ability to handle pressure over the past fortnight has stood her out from the rest of the field. So far, she has won five out of five tie-breaks she’s played, including the deciding set against Svitolina.

Before this week, Fernandez’s best Grand Slam performance came in this year’s French Open, where she reached the third round. The 19-year-old Canadian has a career high ranking of 66, which is sure to rise when the updated rankings are released on Monday.
