Following what was an excellent first week of tennis action at the LTA’s British Tour, which saw Fed Cup star Emma Raducanu and 17-year old Arthur Fery crowned champions, we look ahead to what’s coming in this week’s competition.

Men’s Premier singles preview

Starting on Thursday 9 July, week 2 of the British Tour will feature a Men’s Premier Singles draw, as well as a Women’s Tier 1 Singles and an LTA FAST4 Men’s doubles event on the final day. Headlining the men’s singles event is none other than British No.3 and world No.77 Cameron Norrie. Off the back of a successful run at the Battle of the Brits where he finished 3rd, Norrie comes into the competition as a heavy favourite and British fans will be looking forward to seeing him again back on the court.

Also in the men’s line-up is 2019 NCAA Tennis champion, Paul Jubb. After accepting a late entry to the Battle of the Brits following an injury to Jay Clarke, Jubb impressed in his win over Ryan Penniston before eventually falling to Norrie in the deciding group game. As one of Britain’s brightest young talents, the rest of the group will certainly see him as one to beat.

Elsewhere, Scotland’s Aidan McHugh returns to competitive action, whilst a number of players will be back at the National Tennis Centre after competing last week, including Anton Matusevic.

Women’s Tier 1 singles preview

In the women’s singles draw, No.1 seed Yuriko Lily Miyazaki will be looking to pick up where she left off at last week’s event, where she managed to reach the semi-finals after stringing together a number of impressive performances. Another player looking to build on her recent run of form will be Marni Banks, who also only just lost out to Raducanu in the semi’s.

Maia Lumsden will also be another name to watch in the Women’s Tier 1 competition. The Scot returns as the No.2 seed and will have her eyes set on taking home the trophy. Meanwhile Alice Gillan, Tiffany Bank, Grace Piper and Amelia Rajecki will also prepare for a 2nd week of competition.
