Aegon Surbiton Trophy History | Tennis in Britain

History

Throughout its history, Surbiton Racket & Fitness Club has held international tennis events, and in more recent times was the venue of The Surbiton Trophy, a highly regarded tournament on the challenger circuit scene.

The event attracted players such as Andy Roddick, Jo Wilfied Tsonga, Tim Henman and Roger Federer in the past, so it’s sure to serve up a true Tennis treat.

In 2017 the Aegon Surbiton Trophy will take place during the first week of the British Grass Court season and will be a combined women’s $100k ITF Pro Circuit and men’s $150k ATP Challenger tournament. An increase in prize money of $150k from 2016.

The players will be competing to win this illustrious event and fine tune their grass court game for Queens, Edgbaston and ultimately The Championships, Wimbledon. Set in a leafy borough near to Kingston it’s always an intimate and exciting place to watch some great tennis.

The weekend of June 3 and 4 will be qualifying, before the main draw starts on June 5 and the singles finals take place on Sunday 11.
