2017 Event Guide



Wheelchair Spaces

  • There are 6 wheelchair spaces available on Centre Court and all have a carer’s seat adjacent. Wheelchair users will be charged the full price for their ticket and their carer will be free of charge. These wheelchair spaces must be booked over the phone on 0844 581 1530 (rather than online).

Accessible Toilets

  • There are accessible toilets in the grounds.

Assistance Dogs

  • No dogs are permitted entry into the Tournament grounds, except for registered guide dogs. Unfortunately, whilst they are allowed into the grounds they are not permitted in the centre court.

Babies and children

Children aged under five enter into the grounds for free. Note, babies in arms and children aged under five are not permitted in any grandstand seating.

A child is anyone not older than 17 years of age on the date the ticket is purchased. Adults are those aged 18 and older. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.


A limited number of bike spaces are available onsite. Please ensure you bring appropriate security locking devices.


There will be a variety of hot and cold food and beverage options available on-site. Choices include tea, coffee and hot drinks, sandwiches, salads, ice creams and sweet and savoury snacks, as well as hot meals.

Cash machines

There are no cash machines available at the tournament venue. 

Purchases in the food area can be made by both card and cash.

Conditions of entry

Food can be brought into the grounds, along with non-alcoholic drinks in non-glass containers.

Due to licensing laws, no alcohol may be brought onto site and any that is will be confiscated and handed to security staff for disposal before entry can be granted.

Spectators are prohibited from bringing in the following:

  • Any item which may be interpreted as a potential weapon, including sharp or pointed objects (e.g. knives, large corkscrews), glass bottles, pyrotechnics and 'personal protection' sprays;
  • Bags larger than 16’’ x 12’’ x 12’’ (40cm x 30cm x 30cm);
  • Large flags (max. 2'x2') banners, rattles, klaxons, oversized hats or any items causing an obstruction or nuisance; and
  • All promotional or commercial items of whatever nature or items containing religious or political messaging including but not limited to banners, signs, symbols, marketing materials and leaflets (unless expressly authorised by the LTA). 

Any such items will be confiscated and handed to security staff for disposal and ticket holders in possession of such items may be refused entry to or ejected from the Venue.

Courtside etiquette

  • Please keep noise to a minimum during play
  • Please don’t leave your seat unless during a change-over
  • Mobile phones must be switched off in the vicinity of the courts
  • Please be respectful of those around you by ensuring that you do not obstruct their view or cause any unnecessary inconvenience
  • Flash photography is strictly forbidden in the stands.

Draw sizes

The Tournament operates a ladies and a men’s 32 player singles qualifying draw followed by a 32 player singles main draw. There is a ladies and a men’s 16 doubles draw.

Dress code

There is no dress code at the Tournament.

Drinking Fountain

There is a drinking fountain station in the grounds. This located by the Tennis Zone at the rear of the grounds.

First Aid

There will be first aid and medical provision for spectators. The First Aid room will be signposted in the grounds.

Getting here & travel advice

By Bus

  • The local bus routes are 406, 418, 465, 281, K1, K2, K3, K4 and 71 and these stop a short walk away from the club.

Timetables are available on the Transport for London website.

By Train

  • The club is a 10 minute walk from Berrylands and Surbiton train station both of which are accessible from Waterloo, Clapham Junction, Victoria Station and London Bridge.
  • There is a black cab service from the front of Surbiton station.

By Car

  • There is no parking available on site at Surbiton Racket & Fitness Club. Due to the limited number of parking facilities, we strongly advise guests to use public transport.

Lost property

All lost property will be taken to the Ticket Office by the gate entrance.

There is free entry for the Qualifying event.

The order and times of play are subject to change at the discretion of the Tournament Organisers.

Start and finish times

The grounds open at 10:30am daily. Start times of play may vary but will be no earlier than 11.00am. The times are dependent on the weather and other conditions and are subject to change at the Tournament’s discretion.

If there have been no breaks in play then it is likely that play will finish approximately 6:30pm in the evening. If the weather has been poor then play may continue as long as the light is good, which can be as late as 9:00pm.

Tennis Balls

The balls used at the Aegon Surbiton Trophy are the Slazenger Wimbledon ball. As you can tell by the name; these are the same balls which are in use at The Championships, Wimbledon.

Balls used during Tournament matches can be purchased onsite.
