What is the Aegon Classic Birmingham?

The Aegon Classic Birmingham is a Women’s WTA Premier Level Event and features within the world’s top 21 events on the WTA tour. It is 11th in terms of total prize money and includes both singles and doubles and qualifying draws

What are the dates for the tournament?

The 2017 Aegon Classic Birmingham tournament will run from June 17-25, 2017 at the Edgbaston Priory Club.

How do I buy tickets?

Tickets can be booked online through the Ticket Factory website. You can also book tickets by calling Ticket Factory directly on 0844 581 4995* (Open Monday-Friday, 9am-7pm and Saturday and Sunday, 9am-5pm).

If you would like tickets for a group booking, you will need to call the Ticket Factory group bookings line on 0800 358 0058** (Open Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm).

Disabled tickets can be booked through the Ticket Factory disabled bookings line on 0800 640 5001** (Open Monday-Friday, 9am-7pm and Saturday-Sunday, 9am-5pm). 

Tickets can also be purchased from the Box Office which is located by the main entrance of the Edgbaston Priory Club, subject to availability.

Please note: Adult Centre Court prices increase by £5 if tickets are purchased after 00.01 on day of attendance.

What provisions are available for wheelchair users?

Wheelchair spaces are available on Centre Court and all have a carer’s seat adjacent.

Wheelchair users will be charged the full price for their ticket (Category 2) and their carer will be free of charge.

These wheelchair spaces must be booked over the phone on 0844 640 5001 (Open Monday-Friday 9am-7pm, Saturday-Sunday 9am-5pm)*.

There are accessible toilets in the grounds located at the back of Centre Court by Court 1.

Disabled Car Parking spaces are available with easy access to the main entrance to the tournament.  Spaces for disabled parking must be booked in advance by sending an email to emma.balfour-evans@lta.org.uk with the following details: blue badge numbers, car make, car registration and contact details (telephone / email). There is no charge for these spaces.

I have purchased tickets, when will I receive them?

If you selected to receive e-tickets and ordered prior to April 27, 2017, these will now have been emailed to you. For any orders after this date, your e-ticket will be automatically sent to you once your order is confirmed.

If you have not received your e-ticket, please check your junk folder first. If you unable to locate your e-ticket, please contact The Ticket Factory on 0844 581 3015* or for disabled tickets call 0800 640 5001**.

If you selected to receive your tickets by post, these are due to be despatched from early June onwards up until the start of the event.

You can track the status of your tickets online via the Ticket Factory tracking system. Please have your order number and postcode to hand in order to carry out this process.

Can I buy tickets on the day?

Tickets can be purchased on the day from the box office on site, subject to availability. The box office is located by the main entrance of the Edgbaston Priory Club.

Please note that there is a £5 additional charge on tickets purchased on the day from Monday, June 19, to Sunday, June 25. Qualifying weekend tickets will remain at £10.

Spectators arriving on the day after 4pm can purchase tickets for that day at the Box Office for £10 per adult ticket with kids free, subject to availability.

Can I buy tickets for 2018?

Tickets for 2018 went on sale to British Tennis Team Members on June 1, 2017. General Sale opened on June 8, 2017. Find ticket information and secure your 2018 tickets.

You will also be able to secure tickets for 2018 on site during the event, by visiting the box office located by the main entrance of the Edgbaston Priory Club.

What is the entry policy for babies and young children?

A ticket is not required for those under 5, on the day they attend, however anyone under 5 is not permitted in the grandstand seating of Centre Court. Please be aware that buggies or prams are not permitted in the grandstand seating and cannot be left unattended.

Children aged 5-16 on the day they attend require a child price ticket and must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Anyone aged 17 and older on the day they attend requires an adult ticket.

How do I get there?

The Aegon Classic Birmingham is held at the Edgbaston Priory Club, situated just five minutes away from Birmingham city centre.

Where can I park?

Public parking and disabled car parking spaces are available for the event.

What time do the gates open and close?

The grounds open at 10am daily and will close 30 minutes after the last match finishes. Play start times are variable but should not be earlier than 11am on any court. These times are dependent on the weather and other conditions and are subject to change at the Tournament’s discretion.

Unfortunately, we cannot confirm the exact schedule of play in advance as timings are extremely dependent on the weather and other conditions, and are subject to change at the Tournament’s discretion.

If there have been no breaks in play then it is likely that play will finish by approximately 8pm. If the weather has been poor then play may continue as long as the light is good, which can be as late as 9pm.

Will there be security checks?

Our security plans are regularly reviewed, and a number of additions and improvements have been made for our 2017 Event. Extra security personnel, resources and measures have been employed. 

In light of recent events, we will again be reviewing our security measures in conjunction with the relevant authorities to ensure that they remain at an appropriate level. 

During the tournament, we would ask everyone arriving at the Edgbaston Priory Club to allow enough time for security checks, and to check our official social media channels and website for any further updates and information.

Is there a left luggage facility on site?

Unfortunately there is no left luggage facility on site. Spectators may not bring a bag larger than 16” x 12” x 12” (40cm x 30cm x 30cm) into the tournament site. For spectator safety all bags are subject to inspection by our security team and are brought to the tournament at the owner’s risk.

Please note that whilst prams and strollers are permitted into the grounds, they are not permitted in the grandstand seating and cannot be left unattended.

Can I bring food and drink into the grounds?

Ticket holders are permitted to bring food and drink into the grounds. However alcohol can be brought into the venue subject to the following restrictions;

Ticket holders may bring no more than the equivalent of (a) one bottle of wine or Champagne (750ml); (b) two cans of beer (500ml); or (c) two cans of premixed aperitifs, per person into the venue. Bottles of spirits or fortified wines will not be allowed into the venue.

Anyone attempting to bring in excessive amounts of alcohol will have this confiscated on entry.

Please note that any item which may be interpreted as a potential weapon is prohibited, including sharp or pointed objects such as knives or large corkscrews. Bags larger than 16’’ x 12’’ x 12’’ (40cm x 30cm x 30cm) are not permitted.

What catering facilities are available on site?

Onsite public catering will provide by Amadeus, who will offer a wide range of hot and cold food and beverage.

Choices of food and refreshments are available at various locations including the BBQ Zone, the Tournament Village marquee, the Public bar and Terrace Bar. For those with a sweeter tooth, the official ice cream of British Tennis, Häagen-Dazs will be on sale in the public catering areas as well as the popular crepe concession unit.

There is a large number of seating arrangements around the site at the various food stations as well as the marquee.

Can I bring a camera?

Cameras can be brought into the grounds with the exception of photographic equipment with lenses of more than 300mm, when extended.

Flash photography is strictly forbidden in the stands and around the match courts.

Are there cash machines on site?

There are no cash machines located on site at the grounds. The nearest cash machine to the Aegon Classic site can be located approximately half a mile away at the Post Office on Hollies Croft (B5 7QN).

Can I exit and re-enter the grounds?

You can however you will need to show your ticket to gain re-entry into the grounds, so please be aware of this on leaving the site.

Which areas can I access with my ticket?

A Centre Court Ticket provides you access to a reserved seat on Centre Court, as well as access to the grounds on the day.

What is the schedule of play?

Gates open at 10am daily.

Will there be exhibition matches?

There will not be any exhibition matches held at this year’s Aegon Classic Birmingham.

I'm interested in volunteering at the event, how do I apply?

Applications for this year are now closed.

An application form to express interest will usually be made available on our website in January.

Applications are open to all, as previous tennis or volunteering experience is not required. The most important thing is that you are friendly, enthusiastic and committed.

As a volunteer you can expect to take on a variety of roles, meet lots of new people and see plenty of the action on court. You’ll also get access to tickets, food & refreshments, a high-quality event uniform and dedicated training.

Will the tournament be broadcast on TV?

Yes! Coverage of the tournament will be shown on Eurosport.

If it rains at the event, will I receive a refund?

If, due to unfavourable weather conditions on the day for which this ticket is valid, there is one hour or more but less than two hours of non-consecutive play on Centre Court, you may claim a refund of 50% of the face value of the ticket.

These refund provisions do not apply where all of the play scheduled for that day for the court(s) which that ticket specifically gives access to has taken place (the latest version of the schedule, including revised schedules released on the day of play, shall apply for these purposes). In such cases, no refund will be given. The amount of play is measured using the official record of the court umpires.

Can tickets be transferred or refunded?

Tickets cannot be transferred or re-sold above face value or offered for sale above face value, nor can they be exchanged or refunded, except under the raincheck scheme.
