Wheelchair Initiative: Enhanced Player Support
Wheelchair Initiative: Enhanced Player Support provides high-quality support from the LTA’s Wheelchair Performance Pathways Team, enabling players to train regularly with an experienced coaches.
This stage nurtures players on their first step of performance Wheelchair Tennis, building the skills to compete at LTA Wheelchair Tennis events.
The aim of this programme is to increase the number of nationally relevant players with the potential to be selected for Development Squad and/or National Age Group Programme (NAGP).

- One player visit per year by a Wheelchair Performance Programme coach
- Mid-year review and check-in
- Recommendation to attend Open Court Programme activities (inc. participation focused camps)
- 1x Wheelchair Performance Pathway camp
- Programme, coach and competition support
This level of support is selection-based for players aged 8-26 years old and supports those who are competing in domestic Regional and National Wheelchair Tennis Competitions.
There are two ways you can get involved:
- Attend a Wheelchair Tennis Initiative day and from this, be selected; or
- Be nominated by an LTA Wheelchair Performance Pathway Coach.
