Running a league can be a very time-consuming job which is why we recommend using League Planner (LP). LP saves time and effort by collating entries, making and scheduling draws, balancing home and away fixtures and much, much more!
If you decide to publish your LP file, and have it ‘converted’ to an online league, this allows team captains to enter their own teams’ results, saving the overall league organiser even more time; it also adds an exciting dynamic to the league experience as results and standings can be updated immediately for all players to see at the click of a button.
Online league entry is available, allowing team captains to enter and pay for their teams online, and the job of entering results can be massively facilitated by players linking themselves to their clubs so that they appear automatically on drop down menus when match results are inputted.
You will need a LP licence to use the software and, at the moment, it only works on Windows based operating systems, however converters can be installed for Apple product users.
*The LTA takes its responsibilities towards the welfare of young people in tennis very seriously and requires everyone in tennis who has significant contact with children, or access to their records, to have an Enhanced DBS Disclosure. If you are an accredited referee your DBS will need to be renewed every 3 years. If you are not an accredited referee your DBS must be less than 12 months old when you first apply for a licence and you will subsequently need to renew your DBS every 3 years.
Provided the requirements have been met your licence will be sent within 5 working days.
Once you have your LP licence you can apply to run a league by completing the league application form. Your league will be set up within 10 working days but please do not work on your LP file until you have received confirmation that your league has been set up.

As with most computer programmes the best way to learn is to read the guide and then practise. The LP User Guide (located at right hand side of resources area) is a comprehensive, step by step guide to all the features that are available. It is strongly recommended that you also watch the ‘How To’ Videos which guide users through key administrative tasks.
The LP software is continually being developed so it is important to check that you are using the latest version. Each version number can be released multiple times with new features so you need to check the release date and not just the version number.
