fThere are 4 International High Performance Centres (IHPCs) and 15 High Performance Centres (HPCs) in Great Britain. These centres are carefully designed to meet the needs of performance juniors providing high-level coaching and fitness programmes and access to top facilities.
IHPCs and HPCs are provided with:
To qualify as an IHPC or HPC, a centre has to meet a number of minimum standards:
Performance players based at IHPCs and HPCs are mainly aged between 10 and 16 years of age and must meet certain criteria, qualifying them as top juniors against international standards. Each IHPC and HPC is working to get as many of its players as possible up to the top level.
IHPCs and HPCs also provide a great tennis programme for aspiring players who play a key role in the training programme of performance players acting as hitting partners as well as developing their own tennis. To inquire about this program, contact the centre directly.
The AASE scheme is available in the majority of centres and gives 16-18 year olds the chance to join a squad of players in their local area. The players receive 12 hours of free high quality training per week while continuing their education.
Each IHPC and HPC also acts as a hub, supporting a network of Satellite Clubs in its surrounding area. These Satellite Clubs focus primarily on talent development for up and coming performance players under the age of 12.
