New Competition Search

Competition Search Update

Since the re-vamped Competition Search tool was launched at the end of August 2012 we have continued to collect feedback from those who use it. A second Focus Group session was held in in November with the aim of continuing to improve the service offered and this information was used to make the following changes:

•  Quick search toolbar which requires less clicks to get to search results
• Any filters applied are displayed above search results and a ‘clear all’ function is now available
• Gender filters have been added
• Girls events in Mini Tennis are highlighted within the search results when logged in as a female
• Tournament code has been added to search results and listings in the competition calendar
• Tournament and event information has been added to withdrawal confirmation message in the competition calendar
• Player lists can now be sorted by name, rating, county and acceptance order
• Height of match results reduced so more results can be viewed at once

The next phase of development will include the features outlined below, these will be added over the coming weeks and months:

• Adjusting the layout of the event page to reduce imagery and highlight key event information
• Re-introduce all competition statuses (including closed for entries)
• Add pagination to search results
• Option to allow users the ability to choose to view 10, 20, 50, all results per page etc.
• Option to allow multiple saved searches
• Make the filters quicker, and more user friendly
• Create an alternative table view of results to display basic event information, but allow for far more search results to be viewed at once (see prototype image on the right)
• Improve the overall speed of the system
