The Summer Regional Tour (SRT) is a circuit of over 100 Grade 3 tournaments delivered across Great Britain during the summer season. The circuit caters for the 18, 16, 14, 12, 10 and 9 and under age groups.
The Grade 3 SRT tournaments run from April – August 2013. Please see tournament codes and dates on 2013 Summer Regional Tour Events 2013.
There is no limit as to how many tournaments a player may enter on the SRT. However, please be aware of the updated rules surrounding overlapping tournaments.
The leaderboard standings will be made up of your best 6 results from all the SRT events in which you have played. From each event the highest number of points gained from the qualifying event or main draw event, including consolation, will count towards the Summer Regional Tour Leaderboard.
Although 10U and 9U competitions do not carry ranking points, grade 3 ranking points will be allocated to players for the purpose of the leaderboard only. From each event the highest number of points gained from the qualifying event or main draw event, including consolation, will count towards the SRT leaderboard standings, which will be made up of your best 6 results from all the SRT events in which you have played.
A variety of formats may be used by Regional Tour tournaments; please note the following
Note 1:
If an event has two stages such as Round Robin to Elimination, the first Round Robin draw is the qualification draw.
Note 2:
A compass draw has its own inbuilt consolation (left hand side of the draw) and therefore no additional consolation draws are eligible for points; these will count for ratings only. In an 8 player compass main draw the player who loses his/her first match and wins the next two will receive consolation winner points, not 5# points.
Note 3:
Please note that draws which are not qualifying, main draw or consolation will count for ratings only and no ranking / leaderboard points will apply.
Summer Regional Leaderboard
The leaderboard will display the total number of ranking points earned by each player in each age group and show his/her best 6 results from tournaments in the SRT. It will be updated, fortnightly, after each rankings run, but more frequently nearer the end of the Tour.
The leaderboard will be available on the LTA website from the end of April once the first sets of results have been processed.
National Summer Regional Leaderboard
This leaderboard will reflect the Summer Regional Tour leaderboard on a national basis so that all players with Summer Regional Tour points are displayed in points order, regardless of which region they are from.
If there are fewer than 5 players in a draw, in any age group, no ranking points will be awarded.
Disruptions to tournaments caused by player withdrawals in order to compete in an overlapping tournament will lead to points being taken away from a player. Should a player lose Grade 3 ranking points from tournaments in the Summer Regional Tour those points will also be removed from the leaderboard.
It is the player’s responsibility to check his/her points regularly to ensure all results are appearing correctly on the leaderboard.
The Summer Regional Tour Finals have been removed from the calendar. Instead the player who finishes at the top of each regional leaderboard will receive prizes; a collectable WRT winner’s pin, certificate and vouchers. Read the information in the link below for an explanation on the removal of the Finals from the calendar.
Why have the Finals been removed?
