Playing competitive tennis is a great way to keep fit, meet new people and improve your game. There are many adult team and individual competitions across the country for players at all levels.
There are over 350 County/District league and cup competitions currently operating throughout Great Britain. These team competitions primarily offer doubles matches and provide a great way to represent your club and compete with your friends. To find out how to get involved contact your club captain or your local county office.
If you want to play singles and doubles in a team then your place to play should enter AEGON Team Tennis. Team Tennis is a league-based format and runs in April, May and June each year. It provides regular competition for teams and you can track your progress through online leagues.
There are also opportunities for players to represent their County in AEGON County Cup, a University in the BUCS leagues and compete in Veteran competitions organised by VETS Tennis GB. The pinnacle of team competition in Great Britain is to represent your country and you can follow the GB Davis Cup Team and GB Fed Cup Team in their respective ties.
There are also individual adult competition opportunities and these offer you the chance to play singles matches against other players either in a tournament, matchplay, box league or a ladder.
To find your local individual competition visit the LTA Competition search, enquire at a local club or park, or contact your local county office.
At the top end of domestic individual tournaments are the AEGON British Tour events before reaching ITF, ATP and WTA level with events within the AEGON GB Pro-Series, AEGON British Tennis Series and Wimbledon.
Please note these competitions & websites are run externally to the LTA
