1. I won a Grade 5 competition, and haven’t been awarded any ranking points, why is this?

If there were fewer than 5 players in the event when the draw was made ranking points will not be awarded; matches will however count towards ratings. This applies to all tournaments graded 1 – 5.

2. In a draw with 8 players I reached the semi-finals after being given a walkover but have only been given 1 point; why is this?

You must win a match in a draw to receive ranking points from the round reached. If you don’t win a match you will be awarded just one point.

3. I have played in 8 ranking tournaments; why haven’t they all been included for my rankings total?

Your ranking total is based on your best 6 tournaments (best 3 for veterans) from the past 12 months.

4. I played in a Grade 6 competition, why haven’t I been awarded any ranking points?

Ranking points are only awarded for competition graded 1 to 5; grade 6 count for ratings only.

5. I recently played a tournament and was awarded 53 ranking points, why haven’t they been included in my rankings total yet?

The results may not have been processed yet so check the ranking list dates Only results from matches in competitions with end dates prior to12 days before the fortnightly rankings run dates are included; this is to allow time for tournament organisers to submit results and for them to be processed. Relevant dates until the end of summer 2012 competition season are below: 

6. I played in a qualifying event and then made the second round of the main draw, will I get two lots of ranking point?

No, you keep your highest set of points from the whole competition, ie. either the qualifying draw/s or main draw or consolation draw.

7. I won my first round match and was then given a walkover, how many ranking points should I receive?

You will receive points up to the furthest position you reach in the particular draw in which your are playing; points assigned vary according to the grade of the competition. You have to win a match in a draw (qualifying draw/main draw etc.) in order to be assigned points according to position reached in that draw.

8. I played in a Grade 5 AEGON Team Tennis match; the results are on the LTA website so why haven’t I received ranking points?

AEGON Team Tennis ranking points will be included for your ranking total at the end of the ratings season.

9. What is a GB National Ranking which is used by the ITF for international tournaments?   

A GB ITF national ranking can be assigned to British players who do not have an international ranking but wish to compete in ITF Pro Circuit tournaments. This ranking serves as an order of merit for tournament acceptance. The GB national rankings are determined as follows:

ITF Mens and Womens circuits (up to 500 of each gender permitted)

1. Export of players ordered according to AEGON British Tennis ratings 
2. Players who will not be knocked off ATP/WTA ranking in next quarter removed
3. Players who are 35 years old or older removed (however can be added in subsequent submission upon request)
4. Foreigners removed
5. The list sorted by ratings then rankings
6. Exception: if a player has a GB open ranking inside the top 100, but did not make the cut in terms of rating, he/she is added to the bottom of the list.

ITF Junior Circuit: the LTA submits a list of male and female players (up to 75 of each gender permitted) to the ITF.  The lists are ordered based on a player's AEGON British Tennis rating followed by 18U ranking.
