Georgina Jackson has won the AEGON Coach of the Month award for December.
Georgina is coach at Thongsbridge Tennis Club in Yorkshire whose main focus is developing the Mini Tennis programme at the club.
She has helped Thongsbridge Tennis Club achieve 157 regularly competing juniors including 96 Mini Tennis players.
Part of this success has been down to her efforts in ensuring that parents and players understand the Mini Tennis system and the player pathway. She encourages her players to enjoy playing tennis and helps them to achieve high standards in the game.
In conjunction with two other clubs, she has set up inter club Mini Tennis performance leagues to help her players follow the correct path in the Mini Tennis game.
Georgina has also led more than 60 juniors at a recent Clubmark Talent ID Day that was organised by the county office. She directed a very successful day that offered a wide range of clubs the chance to nominate for the Talent ID process. Georgina regularly offers her time to help at County Talent ID days and to watch her players at tournaments.
Georgina is also the 18 & Under Girls County Cup captain who this year maintained their position in Group 1 at Bath.
Also awarded was Alex Jewitt who has won the AEGON Player of the Month award for December.
British No. 4 Alex Jewitt ended his 2011 season in style by winning both the singles and doubles titles at the ACSA Johannesburg Open in South Africa.
Earlier in the month, Jewitt had reached the semi-finals of the ACSA Border Open but lost out to top seed Yoshinobu Fujimoto from Japan 6-1, 7-5.
But after being seeded second in Johannesburg, Jewitt upped his game to reach the final and set up a clash with South African top seed Sydwell Mathonsi. Jewitt took the first set 6-2 but after a series of service breaks in the second set, Mathonsi gained a crucial hold to go 5-4 ahead en route to levelling the tie at one set all.
A tight third and deciding set saw Mathonsi serving to stay in the match but the South African No. 1 served two double faults to hand Jewitt a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 victory and his fourth ITF Futures title of the season.
"I wouldn't say it was my best match of the year, but it was certainly the toughest and it's a great way to end the season. I can now look forward to 2012 and trying to qualify for my second Paralympics," said Jewitt.
Jewitt also gained his third doubles title of the season after partnering Nigeria's Alex Adewale to a 6-0, 6-1 victory over South African duo Gift Lekhanyane and Moses Malatji in the final.
The world No.37 will now be heading to Australia to compete in four tournaments Down Under including the ITF Super Series at the Sydney International Open.
