Yorkshire’s Tara Moore has won the AEGON GB Pro-Series Chiswick after defeating Amy Bowtell of Ireland 6-3, 6-4 at the Esporta Riverside, Chiswick.
In the women's semi-finals on Saturday Bowtell completed a 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 victory over the No.3 seed Jocelyn Rae, to prevent an all British final. Moore won her semi-final by an identical score to her quarter-final victory, prevailing 6-3, 7-6 over Australian fourth seed Tammi Paterson.
In the ladies doubles, Yorkshire’s No 2 Anna Fitzpatrick, along with her partner Jade Windley, faced the top seeded pair beat Jocelyn Rae and Emelyn Starr. Rae and Starr came through with a score of 6-1, 6-4 to capture the title.
Elsewhere, the AEGON British Tour in Ilkley has concluded with both the top seeds, Kyle Brassington and Natasha Hillyer, winning the respective singles titles.
Brassington, the top seed in the men's event, played the second seed Simon Roberts in the final and came through 6-4, 6-7, 6-4 to take the title.
Yorkshire No 1, Katie O'Brien, reached the final of the singles event at the ITF $25k event in Vigo, Spain, but went down in straight sets to the top seed Andrea Hlavackova.
Afterwards O'Brien tweeted, "Wind picked up today & I struggled to find the court at times. Andrea played great though."
