Sheffields Alex Jewitt collected the men's doubles title at Belgium's Ath Open NEC Wheelchair Tennis Tour last weekend.

Earlier in the tournament, French second seed Lahcen Majdi had beaten reigning National champion Jewitt 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 in the men's singles quarter-finals, but Jewitt gained some compensation for that narrow loss when he paired up with David Phillipson in the men's doubles as the British pairing again lived up to their top billing to beat second seeds Majdi and Gert Vos of Belgium in the final.

On the junior tour at the ITF Grade 4 in Portugal, Kyle Edmund reached the semi-finals of the boys' singles before going down in three sets to Antonio Mastrelia of Italy. However, Edmund, along with partner Sam Hutt, made it to the doubles final at the same tournament where they played the fourth seeds Dubarenco (MDA) & Nikiforov (RUS) for the title. Edmund and Hutt finished runners up.

At the ITF Grade 4 in Luxembourg, 14 year old Eleanor Dean has won the girls' singles and doubles title. In the singles final the unseeded Dean triumphed against No.2 seed Katharina Lehnert 6-2, 7-5. In the doubles final Dean teamed up with Katy Dunne [2] to beat Katharina Lehnert (GER) & Sarah Loebel (GER) 7-6(8), 6-1.

At the ITF $25k in Tallinn, Estonia, Anna Fitzpatrick met Anne Keothavong in the quarter-finals of the women’s singles. Fitzpatrick came through two qualifying matches and a further two main draw matches for the expense of only one set.  Keothavong, who was the top seed, overcame Fitzpatrick and went on to win the tournament.

At the AEGON British Junior Nationals Championships, which has been taking place last week and continues this week, Jessica and Jennifer Ren were in action in the girls under 18 singles and doubles draws. In the Singles, Jennifer finished as Runner Up to Pippa Horn. Jessica, partnered by Ruth Seabourne, took the doubles title.
